Current and former students and postdocs

Current

Graduate students

  • Cristina Tugurlan is a graduate student in the math department. Her work deals with the parallel implementation of Fast Marching Methods.
  • Sean Farley is a graduate student in the math department working on the numerical implementation of the variational approach to fracture. During the summer of 2008, Sean was a Givens Associate at Argonne National Laboratories, in the MCS division.
  • Wesley Even is a graduate student in the Physics and Astronomy department. Wes is part of the IGERT on multiscale computational fluid dynamics, advised by J. Tohline. His research deals with Mass Transfer and mergers in double white dwarf binaries.

Undergraduate students

  • Stephen Brouillette is an undergraduate honor student in his senior year. Stephen spent his summer in the Rice University 2008 Summer Institute of Statistics REU.
  • Robert Giglio is an undergraduate honors student in his sophomore year. Robert is currently working on a web-based reporting system to present and compare the large number iof numerical experiments performed by the variational fracture groups

Past

Jung-Han Kim was a post doc in the math department. He is now an assistant professor in the department of Mathematics at the South Dakota State University.
