Welcome to Calculus I.
The course is based on the book 'Calculus: Early Transcendentals (5th Edition)', by James Stewart
Here are the rules of the Game:
The purpose of using WebWork is that the instructor can spent more time
on the conceptual understanding
of mathematics and its application to a variety of practical problems. These
sections are for students
who want to learn calculus at the level of its underlying concepts.
It is normal to have problems with calculus, in particular at the beginning.
You are highly encouraged to come to my office hours,
pose questions in class (or by email) and, in particular, to discuss the
material with your classmates.
There will be free math help for students on Monday through Friday in
Allen 39. Times will be announced at the beginning
of the semester on
the door of Allen 39.
Class attendence is absolutely necessary.
Suggestions are always welcome.
