Final Exam: Friday, May 16, 7:30 am - 9:30 am

Welcome to Calculus II.

The course is based on the book 'Calculus: Early Transcendentals (4th Edition)', by James Stewart. This is the book that you were already using in Calculus I (1550).

Here are the rules of the Game:

  1. There will be three tests (50 minutes each, in class) on the following (tentative) days:

    Thursday, February 13, 2003
    Thursday, March 13, 2003
    Thursday, April 10, 2003

  2. The final exam will be a comprehensive exam.

  3. Homework will NOT be collected. We will have 9 unannounced 10-15 minutes quizzes, closely related to the homework assignment of the previous week. The best 8 quizzes count.

  4. There will be no make-up quizzes or make-up exams.
  5. Calculators are NOT allowed.

It is normal to have problems with calculus, in particular at the beginning. You are highly encouraged to come to my office hours, pose questions in class (or by email) and, in particular, to discuss the material with your classmates.

There will be free math help for students on Monday through Friday in Allen 39. Times will be announced at the beginning of the semester on the door of Allen 39.

Class attendence is absolutely necessary.

Suggestions are always welcome.

Grading policy:

Quizzes 20 pts. each
Tests 180 pts. each
Final 300 pts.

The final grade will be determined by the grading scale:

900-1000 points A
800-899 points B
700-799 points C
600-699 points D
There will be no curving.
