Pasquale Porcelli Undergraduate Scholarships
The Department of Mathematics is now accepting applications for the Pasquale Porcelli Undergraduate Scholarships. These one-year awards are supported by the Pasquale Porcelli Mathematics Fund and are in memory of Boyd Professor Porcelli, who was a member of the Department of Mathematics for 13 years before his death in 1972. There are three undergraduate scholarships of $500 per year each: one to be awarded at the end of the spring semester of the Sophomore year to become effective in the Fall of the Junior year, and two to be awarded at the end of the Spring Semester of the Junior year to become effective in the Fall of the Senior year. The junior scholarship awardee will be eligible for consideration for a senior scholarship. Applicants do not have to be mathematics majors, but math should play a significant role in their studies. The selection committee will base its decision on the students’ merit and promise in the study of mathematics as indicated by academic record and letters of recommendation from teachers. During the year of the award, the recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student on this campus.
