Detailed information on all scholarships and awards is availible in the office of Student Aid and Scholarships located in 202 Himes Hall.

A few other mathematical awards are worth mentioning.

For Present LSU Students

Academic Enhancement Training for LSU Engineering and Mathematics Students Program
NSF funded scholarships of $3,125 per year. Based on good scholastic standing and economic need. Applications accepted throughout the year on a first come first served basis (if requirements are met).Requirements include U.S. citizenship or national or alien refugee; proof of economic need such as recipient of federal financial aid; junior or senior mathmatics or engineering major. Tutoring
Student jobs are available to qualified mathematics students in the mathematics tutoring lab as tutors offering help to other algebra and calculus students.

Pasquale Porcelli Junior Year Scholarship
An award of $250 is awarded on the basis of performance in mathematics classes and letters of recommendation.

Betti and Robert Giles Senior Mathematics Award
An award of approximately 250 dollars (amount varies) plus a Mathematics Book selected by the student is presented each Spring to an outstanding senior in Math. This award is given on the basis of scholastic performance, recommendation of the mathematics faculty, and performance in mathematics.

Tom Cruse Memorial Scholarship
An award of 500 dollars presented in the spring semester. The candidate must be at least in the third year of college, have completed the two freshman year Honors College sequences or show that they are well rounded in areas outside of mathematics, and show a marked inprovement in focus or gpa.

For Entering Students

LSU Mathematics Contest
The winner of the LSU Mathematics Contest for high school students receives a scholarship (presently 500 dollars).

Mu Alpha Theta
The Louisiana Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta awards a scholarship (recently 2000 dollars) to a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the organization of high school math clubs. The scholarship is determined on the basis of an exam given at the State Mu Alpha Theta Convention in Baton Rouge.
