  1. Member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America, and of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
  2. Local arrangements chairman for the 788th meeting of the American Mathematical Society in Baton Rouge in November 1982.

Administrative

  1. Served as chairman of the mathematics department at Louisiana State University from August 4, 1984 through December 18, 1986.
  2. Served on many departmental, college, and university committees. Examples are the Arts and Sciences and the University Courses and Curriculum Committee, the Arts and Sciences Promotion and Tenure Committee, and the mathematics department Executive Committee. Served on the Arts and Science Faculty Senate (one year as president), the University Faculty Senate, and several Faculty Senate committees.
