My adviser is Oliver Dasbach.

Research Interests include

  • Khovanov homology and other knot homology theories in knot theory
  • Twisted Alexander polynomial and other knot polynomials in knot theory
  • Low-dimensional as well as combinatorial topology
  • Matroid theory, graph theory, and enumerative combinatorics

  • Fall 2009: Aside from my dissertation work, I am involved in two separate research projects.
  • Summer 2009: I've led a team researching the twisted Alexander polynomial after our "X-Math" conference at LSU. My only vacation was participating in an intensive 3-week long Workshop/Conference around the Volume Conjecture at Columbia in NYC.
  • Spring 2009: I've been active in the Junior Topology Seminar.
  • Fall 2008: I received the David Oxley Memorial Graduate Student Teaching Award from our dept, awarded only once a semester.

  • Fall 2008: My article "Sustaining Your Math Club" was published in the September 2008 issue of Math Horizons.

  • May 2007: I passed my General Exam and am working on my research project: Khovanov Homology, a way of distinguishing knots.
