Research Interests include
- Khovanov homology and other knot homology theories in knot theory
- Twisted Alexander polynomial and other knot polynomials in knot theory
- Low-dimensional as well as combinatorial topology
- Matroid theory, graph theory, and enumerative combinatorics

- Fall 2009: Aside from my dissertation work, I am involved in two separate research projects.
- Summer 2009: I've led a team researching the twisted Alexander polynomial after our "X-Math" conference at LSU. My only vacation was participating in an intensive 3-week long Workshop/Conference around the Volume Conjecture at Columbia in NYC.
- Spring 2009: I've been active in the Junior Topology Seminar.
- Fall 2008: I received the David Oxley Memorial Graduate Student Teaching Award from our dept, awarded only once a semester.

- Fall 2008: My article "Sustaining Your Math Club" was published in the September 2008 issue of Math Horizons.
- Spring 2008: I received a Certificate for Teaching Excellence from our dept, awarded to several graduate students each semester.
- Spring 2008: The Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference featured my two Math Horizons articles on Math Clubs.
- Fall 2007: I've been active in the Virtual Seminar on Knot Homologies, Combinatorics Seminar, and Junior Topology Seminar.
- Summer 2007: I spent the summer working with the REU here at LSU.
- May 2007: I passed my General Exam and am working on my research project: Khovanov Homology, a way of distinguishing knots.
- Fall 2006: I received a Certificate for Teaching Excellence from our department, awarded to several graduate students each semester.
- Fall 2006: My article "How to Start... and Maintain your School's Math Club" was published in the Sept 2006 Math Horizons.
- Spring 2006: I received my Master's degree from LSU.
- Fall 2005: My interview with the Klein Four group was published in the November 2005 issue of Math Horizons.
