This will find the maximum value of the function over an interval that you designate with a left bound and a right bound.

Example: Find the maximum value of the function shown on the screen below.

The local
maximum is -3.

Note: The maximum in the screen above shows an x value of -6.7159737E-9. This is the number -0.0000000067159737 which is rounded to 0.
