This conference deals with a broad spectrum of the theory of quadratic forms, including algebraic theory, arithmetic theory, K-theory, algebraic groups, and the theory of metric spaces. There will be approximately eight one-hour survey lectures and sessions for contributed talks by the participants.

Registration. An on-line registration form is provided for the convenience of the participants.
Lodging. We expect that most participants will stay at Pleasant Hall, the canonical on-campus hotel for LSU visitors. The room rate is $55 per night plus tax and includes continental breakfast and shuttle from and to the Baton Rouge airport. Please click here for details on how to make a reservation. The number of rooms is limited, so it is important to register early. Participants wishing to use other accommodation can find a list of area hotels on the web page of the Baton Rouge Visitors Bureau. Please contact the organizers if you need any assistance.
Financial support. We expect to be able to provide some support for participants. Priority will be given to graduate students and young investigators without outside support. Click here for instructions on how to apply. The deadline for applying for support is December 31, 2000.
Submission of abstracts. For those participants wishing to give a contributed talk, we request that abstracts be submitted by e-mail following the instructions on the conference web site. The deadline for abstracts is January 31, 2001.
Proceedings. It is intended to publish the proceedings of the conference in cooperation with Documenta Mathematica.
Conference fee. A conference fee of $45 ($35 for graduate students) should be paid upon arrival at LSU.
Getting to Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge airport is served by several of the major American airlines. You can also fly to New Orleans, which is about one hour drive from Baton Rouge.
Weather. The temperature in Baton Rouge during the conference should be quite pleasant. The average high for March is 72.3 F (22.4 C), and the average low is 50.2 F (10.1 C).
