Research

Low-dimensional topology, especially knot and braid theory.  Recently, I have been especially intrigued with virtual links and closed curves on surfaces.  I am also interested in Vassiliev invariants of links and finite-type invariants of 3-manifolds.

My dissertation advisor is Dr. Richard A. Litherland.

Last year, I posted my first paper "Filamentations for Virtual Links" to the ArXiv.  Access electronic copies by clicking this hyperlink to the posting. This paper will soon appear in the Journal of Knot Theory and Its Ramifications.

I posted my second paper "Virtual Strings for Closed Curves with Multiple Components" to the ArXiv late last year and have since posted a few updated versions.  Access electronic copies by clicking this hyperlink to the posting.
