A little bit about me: Although I was born in Houston, Texas, during the height of the Disco Era, my family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when I was very young. So even though the Lone Star state is dear to me, I am truly a Californian at heart. I am very close with my family and friends as you can see in the photo gallery. I am very proud of my ancestry which includes an original Texas Ranger named "Bigfoot" and William Wallace himself the Scottish hero (or sometimes known as the dude Mel Gibson played who yelled 'freeeeeddddoooom' in the end). I have many interests outside of knot theory including sports, movies, cooking, traveling, going to the beach when able (but not going in the water) (see Interests). I also enjoy teaching and so I am happy with my career choice. Nobody ever reads to the end of these narcissistic "about me" paragraphs that are usually found on those really elaborate facebook or myspace pages so I can pretty much say anything I want to here. I'm the king of the world!
