Mike
Watt
Mike Watt was in
Baton Rouge playing with J. Masics on Friday, April 20, 2001. You can read about
the concert here.
Mike Watt is one of the legenday figures of American punk rock, and with his
band The Minutemen, he draw the completely new map of rock music and the music
was never the same again. After a sad accident in wich his old companion D.
Boon died, Watt started playing again and formed the new band fIREHOSE with
Ed Crawford on guitar and George Hurley from The Minutemen on drums. fIREHOSE
and Minutemen are extremly improtant bands in my life. Their music is one of
the things I will never forget, something that makes me feel happy when I'm
sad, something that heals my wounds, something that makes me feel great. When
my building was shelled in the war, I played Double
Nickes on The Dime really loud. And, that's the time I also started
my friendship with Watt. Watt is a great guy to talk to, he knows about a lot
of things and he been through a lot of things. Also, it was great having him
on the air, and here you can listen what he had to say about the tour with J
Mascis and about his new album...
