Burden Plantation and Rural Life Museum

Early each Fall Semester, the Department's faculty hosts an event to welcome all the new graduate students and all the returning graduate students to the new academic year. This year Graduate Student Day was held Saturday, September 21, at LSU's beautiful Burden Plantation and Rural Life Museum - located in Baton Rouge. Faculty members from seven departmental research groups gave survey talks about research opportunities for graduate students. Coffee and refreshments were provided during the talks, and there was a delicious buffet lunch at mid-day. Also, there was ample time to talk, get acquainted, and tour the Plantation grounds and Museum. Here are a few snapshots from Graduate Student Day 2002.
