Assistantships for Concentration in Finance

Limited Graduate Assistantship support is sometimes available for this concentration. These assistantships are available only to those students who have at least 18 hours of prior graduate credit in Mathematics and it is limited by the actual level of need each semester for additional teachers. It is required further that the graduate assistant's spoken English be approved in advance for teaching a class at LSU. Graduate students who teach participate in Communicating Mathematics, a seminar to instruct them in good teaching methods. Financial aid is contingent upon the student being deemed to be making satisfactory progress toward a graduate degree in Mathematics, and upon assistantship duties being performed satisfactorily. There is no deadline for application, but early application is strongly encouraged.
