I was born and raised in Lake Jackson, a medium-sized town south of Houston, TX. Along with my sister Allison, I was homeschooled through the 12th grad by my parents. In high school, I took dual credit courses at Brazosport Community College where I also tutored math and physics. I entered Rice University in 2009 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics in 2013. I spent the following year as the 9th and 10th grad math teacher at Xavier Educational Academy, a special needs private school in Houston. In 2014 I started my PhD in Mathematics at Louisiana State University as a Board of Regents Fellow. My hobbies include playing board games and social dancing.
