The Baton Rouge Concert Band (BRCB)

A Community Band, Founded 1976

The Baton Rouge Concert Band is an all volunteer group of musicians from in and around the Baton Rouge area. The band was founded in 1976 by Vernon A. Taranto who is currently retired as conductor. Sheily Bell has assumed the primary conducting duties of the band. All concerts, except for a fall fund raiser, are free and open to the public. The BRCB plays about 12 times a year in the local area and over the years has travelled to nearby states (Texas to Fla) to give performances. The membership is maintained at approximately 55 members.

The BRCB rehearses from 7:15 to 9:15 pm each Tuesday evening in the orchestra rehearsal hall at the LSU School of Music, located on the LSU main campus near the intersecton of Highland Road and Dalrymple Dr.
