Program Description: The Southern Regional Harmonic Analysis Conference will focus on current research in harmonic analysis and its applications. Topics include discrete harmonic analysis, harmonic analysis on Lie groups and homogeneous spaces, improving and sparse bounds, oscillatory integrals, geometric measure theory, and related problems in operator theory and PDEs.
The conference will include two plenary talks by Michael Lacey and Irina Holmes and twelve contributed talks.
Each plenary talk will be followed by a discussion seminar; the conference will give all participants the opportunity and the time to discuss the advances made as well as the drawbacks encountered, and to discuss possible new approaches.
A substantial part of the funds will be devoted to support participation by individuals who do not have other federal support. We target participation of a diverse audience, including women, faculty at smaller, mainly undergraduate institutions with limited financial and networking resources, undergraduate and graduate students, recent PhDs, and under-represented minorities.
The proposed conference falls under the broad umbrella of analysis, harmonic analysis and geometric analysis in particular, frame theory, Fourier analysis and fractal geometry, and geometric measure theory.
The workshop is supported by NSF. It provides partial support for participants.
Accommodations: The conference hotel is the Cook hotel and Conference Center at LSU where we will save a block of rooms. Before you make a reservation, contact one of the organizers.
