| Cutting and Pasting the Square Root of 2 |
| Let s stand for the square root of 2. Suppose
you have two sheets of paper. One measures s vetically
and 1 horizontally. (This is the brown one in the picture, below). The
other measures 1 vetically and s horizontally.
(This is the green one, which has been placed on top of the brown one.) |
