The course will cover most of the material from chapters 1 to 11. We will need to cover around 2 sections per class meeting. Not all chapters are equally important and the most important material is in the last few chapters. We will therefore spend relatively short time on the first two chapter. But we urge all students to read the book and look carefully at the examples in the book.

Homework is done using WebWork. The new set of homework will usually be opened after the Thursday class and you will have one week to finish the problems. You can get to the WebWork page by clicking

There will be in-class quizzes. Homework and quizzes will count 30% of the final grade.
