About me

I am a sixth year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at Louisiana State University working under the supervision of Shea Vela-Vick. I am on the job market now. I finished my undergraduate education from Jadavpur University,Kolkata (India) in 2012 and did my masters from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (India) in 2014. My research interest lies in contact geometry, low dimensional topology and knot theory. Specifically my work addresses classification problems of Legendrian and transverse knots in contact manifolds. Currently I am focused on knots in overtwisted contact manifolds. I also like to study the relationship between contact geometry and Heegaard Floer theory. I organize the graduate student geometry and topology seminar at LSU. Click here to see my CV.
