Graduate Student Day & Orientation Conference
Each fall the Mathematics Department holds its annual Graduate Student Day & Orientation Conference. The purpose of this event is to welcome all the new graduate students and also all the continuing graduate students to the new academic year. There are talks given by faculty members from several diverse research groups to orient all new and continuing students regarding the Department's ever-expanding research activities and opportunities. There is a picnic lunch provided in the middle, and there is time also for informal activities and conversation. The Department selects an attractive setting for each of these conferences.
