LSU Scores at Virginia Tech Regional Math Contest

LSU students performed very well on the 41st. Annual Virginia Tech Regional Math Contest (VTRMC). This annual competition consists of a challenging two and half hour written exam, and there were 758 participants from 98 colleges and universities from 29 states. Out of a maximum possible score of 70 points, the national median was 1 point.,

On the LSU team, freshman Kha Le scored 10 points, placing in the top 1/3 of the national competitors. Historically, this is the best performance of any LSU freshman on the VTRMC. Sophomore Rohin Gilman scored 20 points, placing in the top 15% nationally. This is the highest score any LSU student has ever achieved on the VTRMC

The team was coached by Professor Karl Mahlburg.
