Hey yall! As we're nearing the end of the semester, it's time to take a look at all we've accomplished.
In our recent annual election, AWM elected the officers for the 26-27 academic year!
President: Laura Kurtz
Secretary: Hailey Garcia
Treasurer: Huong Vo
With most current officers returning and Huong retaining the role of Treasurer, the new council promises both continuity and exciting new events. Congrats to the new officers! Here's to a new year!

A regulatory actuary with experience in both industry and academia, Amber kindly took the time to tell us about what it takes to become and continue to be an actuary. Attendees got the chance to learn about everything from which exams an aspiring actuary should take to what her favorite aspects of the job are.

AWM and Math Club hosted a joint Jeopardy event, focusing on the accomplishments of women in the department and taking a look at our changing demographics. Besides coming away with valuable information, both AWM and Math Club members had a blast and we're looking forward to doing it next year!

At the beginning of April, AWM hosted a Social for Women in STEM at the LSU Student Union. Folks from various STEM departments around LSU gathered together, chatted, and snacked. As with the joint trivia event the prior month, the takeaway is clear: we can't wait to do it again and reach even more departments and folks!

At the beginning of the semester, we published our new website! With a new look and way to navigate the site, we hope yall like it as much as we do.
Thanks to all the AWM members, officers, and the advisor who made this past year possible.

Thank you to all who attended the joint Q&A with Dr. Carol Woodward!
Both SIAM and AWM members had the opportunity to ask questions of the well-decorated President of SIAM. Dr. Woodward, as a researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, is also the head of the SUNDIALS project for C and Fortran, providing a robust toolkit for scientists and applied mathematicians alike.Go check out the pictures in our photo gallery!
