As a student organization affiliated with the Mathematics Department, we owe our existence, support, and community to the faculty, staff, and students of the LSU Mathematics community. As a world-class research body, the LSU Mathematics Department conducts cutting-edge research while maintaining a supportive, friendly community.
Check out our sister organization, LSU's very own SIAM Student Chapter! A lot of our members are also interested in the more applied side of math and the two clubs' membership has a sizeable intersection. From joint events to sharing tea-time, LSU SIAM are some of our closest friends.
We're merely one of the many arms of the global AWM. The mission of supporting women and gender minorities could never be isolated to a single university; it's a duty we all share.
