The first Math Saturday: Masters of the Mathematics Common Core: Girls in Mathematics was organized by Eugene Kennedy (LSU School of Education) and Larry Smolinsky on May 2nd. Over 50 girls from local Middle schools as well as parents and teachers participated. Pallavi Dani, assisted by 13 Math graduate students, ran a session on Knotty Math, and Scott Baldridge spoke about the common core curriculum to teachers and parents.
