$32,000 Board of Regents Doctoral Fellowships

The Louisiana Board of Regents has awarded the Mathematics Department 3 new Board of Regents Doctoral Fellowships.  These four-year fellowships will be for applicants during the fall and spring of 2009-10 who will begin study in August 2010.  The stipends will be $32,000 per year, with free tuition.  This is a higher stipend than the $30,000 provided before, and the additional support is intended to help the student with research and travel expenses.  The Department's proposal was top-ranked among all departments and subject areas in the state this year.  Recipients of these fellowships must be US citizens or Permanent Residents of the US.
