LSU math students perform well on Putnam Competition

LSU students performed well on the annual Putnam Mathematics Competition, which is a prestigious and very challenging six-hour exam held each December. Over 4000 students from 500+ institutions competed, and more than half of them scored less than 3 points out of a possible 120. LSU had 8 students who earned a positive score, led by Avery St. Dizier with 22 and Shawn Williams with 21. These strong performances rank in the top 15% nationwide.

The LSU students were mentored by Professor Mahlburg.
