Ling Long was invited to deliver the 2023 AMS Maryam Mirzakhani Lecture at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Boston, January 4-7, 2023. This invited address was established by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) Council in 2018 to honor Fields Medalist Maryam Mirzakhani. Previous speakers were Tatiana Toro (University of Washington and incoming Director of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), Berkeley), Ciprian Manolescu (Stanford), and Dan Margalit (Georgia Institute of Technology).
Ling Long is a Professor of Mathematics at LSU. She joined the Math Department in 2013, and she serves on the Editorial Board of the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society.
