Conferences

The LSU Math Number Theory Group will organize or co-organize three Number Theory Conferences this spring:

- Since 2014, the Number Theory group has been running the Southern Regional Number Theory Conference series. This year, it will be held March 11-12, 2023.

Ling Long was invited to deliver the 2023 AMS Maryam Mirzakhani Lecture at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Boston, January 4-7, 2023. This invited address was established by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) Council in 2018 to honor Fields Med

The 2020 Texas-Louisiana Undergraduate Math Conference will take place on October 31 and November 1. From LSU, students of Andrei Tarfulea, Anton Zeitlin, Rob Lipton, and Shawn Walker will present their work orally and by poster. The conference series was started in 2017 and rotates between Texas A&M, the University of Houston and LSU. The organizers are Stephen Shipman (LSU), Daniel Onofrei and William Ott (University of Houston) and Matt Young (Texas A&M).

Professor Ricardo Estrada will be one of the plenary (virtual) speakers at the International Conference on Generalized Functions, GF2020, August 31-September 4, 2020, Ghent, Belgium.

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "Topological Complexity and Motion Planning" online workshop, from September 17 to September 20, 2020.
Organizers are Dan Cohen (LSU), Jesus Gonzalez Cinvestav and Lucile Vandembroucq (Centro de Matemática, Universidade do Minho).

The Third Annual TX-LA Undergraduate Mathematics Conference will take place at Texas A&M, College Station, from October 19-20, 2019. The previous two conferences were hosted by the University of Houston, and by LSU. Stephen Shipman is a Co-Organizer at Large of the undergraduate conference series.

The conference OAL-RAG 2019 on order, algebra, logic, and real algebraic geometry will take place Monday and Tuesday, May 6 - 7, 2019.

An international conference on Ordered Structures in Geometry and Analysis will be held on the campus of Louisiana State University from Friday April 5, 2019 to April 7, 2019. The conference will be dedicated to Boyd Professor emeritus Jimmie D. Lawson celebrating his 50 years as a researcher, educator, and administrator at LSU.

Professor Robert Bryant will deliver the 2019 Porcelli Lectures. Robert Bryant is the Phillip Grifffiths Professor at Duke University. He served as the President of the American Mathematical Society from 2015 to 2017, and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
