Geaux Gradschool
The LSU math department begins its 2013 Graduate Education and Acclimation to University eXperience (GEAUX) program, a two-week orientation aimed at preparing new graduate students for their time at LSU. Included will be preliminary lectures covering background material for the first semester courses, introductions to the departmental staff, and panels in which current students share their experiences from years past. The student-organized conference takes place during the two weeks prior to the start of fall semester each year, and allows older students to help their new peers settle into life in Baton Rouge and the LSU math department. The traditional Welcome Tea to meet the incoming class will take place in the Keisler Lounge on Monday, Aug. 19 from 3:30-4:30pm.
