Dual Enrollment Program: Description
Dual Enrollment Overview
Participating Louisiana high schools offer LSU dual enrollment math courses in which students can simultaneously earn both high school credit and LSU college credit while remaining on their high school campus.
The high school students complete the same Homeworks, Quizzes, Tests, and Final Exam as are completed by matriculating college students enrolled in the corresponding LSU course. The high school students utilize the same online systems, videos, learning aids, and class notes as are utilized by the college students.
The local high school classroom is facilitated by a high school faculty member who has previously completed an LSU DE teacher workshop. The “course instructor of record” is an LSU Mathematics faculty member.
LSU Tuition
LSU dual enrollment tuition is $100 per college credit hour. For example, since Math 1021 is a 3-credit course, the tuition to enroll in Math 1021 through the dual enrollment program is $300.
MyLab Math Tuition
Individual schools or districts are responsible for providing hardware for their students to access the web and for purchasing MyLab Math access codes for their DE and Pre-DE students using the content from these courses. A one-year access code for the MyLab Math online learning system used to deliver the content must be purchased for each student at $40 per student per year.
Support Course Overview
Some high schools offer DE support courses (no college credit).
Pre-DE Course Overview
Some high schools (and some middle schools) offer pre-DE courses (no college credit).
