A number of 2016 LSU math PhD's have accepted postdoctoral positions:
- Karthik Adimurthi, who received his PhD in May 2016 under the direction of Professor Phuc Cong Nguyen, will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at Seoul National University in Korea.
- Eric Bucher, who will receive his PhD in August 2016 under the direction of Professor Milen Yakimov, will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at Michigan State University.
- Jesse Levitt, who will receive his PhD in August 2016 under the direction of Professor Milen Yakimov, will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Southern California.
- Jacob Matherne, who will receive his PhD in August 2016 under the direction of Professor Pramod Achar, will be a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
- Aleksandr Smirnov, who received his PhD in May 2016 under the direction of Professor Yuri Antipov, will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
- Robert Viator, who will receive his PhD in August 2016 under the direction of Professor Robert Lipton, will be an IMA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications at the University of Minnesota.
