Shea Vela-Vick, Associate Professor of Mathematics at Louisiana State University (LSU), received the 2024 LSU Alumni Association Faculty Excellence Award. This award recognizes faculty members who have made significant contributions in teaching, research, and service.
Professor Vela-Vick has been a part of the LSU Mathematics Department since 2012. Additionally, in 2012, he and his collaborators were honored with the Chauvenet Prize from the Mathematical Association of America, the highest award for mathematical expository writing, first established in 1925.
