NSF Graduate Fellowship for Colleen Robichaux (LSU Math B.S. 2016)

Colleen Robichaux, LSU Math B.S. 2016, was awarded a prestigious NSF Graduate Fellowship in the "Algebra, Number Theory, and Combinatorics" Field of Study Category.

Colleen Robichaux is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At LSU she was mentored by Frank Neubrander.

Milen Yakimov named AMS Fellow

Milen Yakimov Professor Milen Yakimov is part of the 2018 class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society.

Assistant Professor Aynur Bulut (left) received her Ph.D. in 2011 from UT Austin. She was member of the Institute for Advanced Study from 2011-13, Postdoctoral Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan from 2013-2016, and she spent 2016-17 at Princeton University. Her research interests lie in PDE.

LSU Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award for Stefan van Zwam

Professor Stefan van Zwam is a recipient of the 2017 LSU Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award.
The award will be presented on May 3rd, 2017, at the Lod Cook Alumni Center.

2017 SEC Faculty Achievement Award for Susanne C. Brenner

Susanne Brenner

Professor Susanne C. Brenner is among the fourteen 2017 SEC Faculty Achievement Awardees. These awards honor one individual from each SEC university who has excelled in teaching, research and scholarship.

Susanne C. Brenner is the Nicholson Professor of Mathematics, and an AMS, SIAM and AAAS Fellow. 

NSF Graduate Fellowship for Daniel Bourgeois

Math Major Daniel Bourgeois received a prestigious NSF Graduate Fellowship. He plans on taking it at the Statistics Department at Rice University.

Daniel Bourgeois was mentored by Professor Susanne C. Brenner.

Joshua Fallon is the recipient of the 2017 Alumni Association Teaching Assistant Award. This award recognizes outstanding teaching ability and service to students.

Susan Murphy (B.S. in mathematics; LSU) elected to the National Academy of Sciences

Susan Murphy, H.E. Robbins Distinguished University Professor of Statistics and Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan, was elected to the National Academy of Sciences. She received her B.S. in mathematics in 1980 from LSU.
